ITT: Books (and general media, though mainly books cos it is /lit/) that transcend age boundaries. Kids books that adults can genuinely like, and vice versa.

I nominate Pratchett, and am sending a hired assassin after the first person who says Harry Potter.

pic unrelated, me having NEW AGE FUN with a VINTAGE FEEL.

But Harry Potter DOES transcend age boundaries.

I am thinking of adults who don't have the reading age of a 16 year old in this case.

It's weird that most of these books ARE fantasy, or magical realism.

Actually, it's not that weird.

Jonathan Livingston Seagull. I know I'm the only one on /lit/ who genuinely likes this book.

Why am i always the only person to say "The Neverending Story" when a thread like this comes up? Unbelievable!

Sherlock Holmes stories (at least they appealed to me when I was a kid)

Johnathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, while fantastic, is probably a little too densely-written for kids these days to be able to get into.

Anything by Roald Dahl. I'm actually surprised that you haven't mentioned him.

And then I went on to make a short story thread because I was thinking about Skin.
