Just because a party or leader claims Christianity doesn't mean that it hasn't been declining and is in the decline. The fact that you can say things like that and not be socially ostracized like you would've been centuries ago doesn't prove that.

In all respect most of this is the case, the Netherlands untill a decade ago voted mostly Christian-Democrate, Germany still does, these are people who have studied theology. The only difference between now and the past is that the aristocracy prevented too much Christian influence in government this democracy has put an end too.
