Books on how to obtain power by lying and manipulating dumb cattle.

>> No.19539543

If you think you must manipulate cattle in order to control them, you are likely a cow yourself.

He was persecuted for several years and exiled and lost considerable prestige and power. When he finally had authority it was over a very divided and poor settlement, many conspiring against him. His ultimate victory was the conquest of Mecca which took many years of extremely talented military leadership and shrewd diplomacy with unbelieving tribes including his enemy. This success is what brought in fealty from most of Arabia. And as soon as he died, most abandoned the religion and were reunited by force under Abu Bakr’s campaign.

So was Abu Bakr the real man behind Islam streaming?

Abu Bakr managed to keep Islam from fracturing into a bunch of polities and sects early on. As soon as Muhammad died, in fact even before, Arabs started claiming to also be prophets and trying to raise armies and others simply wanted to make their own sects and holy books. Almost all of Arabia flatly told Abu Bakr you’re not Muhammad, we never swore fealty to you, get lost. However all of Muhammad’s personal followers accepted him, with Ali and Umar and Khalid Ibn Waleed under him (three very formidable warriors and generals) he managed to subjugate the entire peninsula again in the few years (called the Ridda Wars, meaning Apostasy Wars) he had left. Quite a feat. His accomplishment made a deep impression on Muhammad Ibn Abd al-Wahhab centuries later who likewise believed that though the Penisula claimed Islam (as they still did against Abu Bakr), they had apostacized by praying to the dead (not just for intercession but like asking Muhammad to do things for them).
