This image is adorable, and yes, yes I do re-read books. Some times I'll re-read books just because they're short and I can't be bothered starting anything new.

Sounds like a fags MO to me.

Do ye address his wee haggis before ye eat it?

I feel a person only sips at what a book has to offer when they only read it once. I do not even feel I have truly read a book unless I've read the book twice and given myself ample time for contemplation.

Confirmed for jelly when you go out for Burns' dinner and he's wearing a kilt and he seems so rugged and then there's that twinkle in his eye

>> No.1952669

No.

But I used to when I was younger. I loved to reread young adult and children books then.

The last book that I reread was Lord of the Rings. After that I realized I only spent time that could be better used reading something else.

Fair fa' your purple throbbing face,
Great chieftain o' the knob-end race!
Ach, to ye belong all their base---
Snatch, queynte, and quim!
Weel sprout ye from the crotchy place,
As lang's my limb.

Really? I was actually thinking of re-reading the Lord of the Rings, since I've only ever read it once back when I was 10. Is it not worth it? I am quite certain my mind has developed enough to fully understand the books, which were a bit too hard when prepubescent.

Well if you read it when you were 10, it will look different, so give it a go. I read it first when I was 16-17.

>> No.1952700

People buy books to read them once? WHAT NONSENSE IS THIS!?!?!?!?

>> No.1952706

yes, absolutely

there is no reading, only rereading.

Cute pic, OP.
Also, yes, I re-read books all the time. First time is good, and gets you thinking. Then the second time you notice things, or foreshadowing, you hadn't noticed the first time through.
It's the same as re-watching detective shows or murder mysteries. It's a whole new experience even though you've been through it once already.

>> No.1952728

Schopenhauer believed that you should re-read books immediately after finishing them.

I'd like to test this out, but I haven't the patience just yet.

I feel like doing this half-way through a book, but once I finish it, it just seems like a tedious task.

>> No.1952740

Yep, re-reading makes up about 2% of my book diet.
