Context:
I read 200 pages in Infinite Jest as a teenager but got filtered by the language (ESL).
In college I got 400 pages into Ulysses but then got hit by depression and stopped reading for a while.
Later I got 200 pages into Gravity's Rainbow but stopped to focus on exams and never got back into it.

I read ulysses and liked it
I read like half of gravity's rainbow and liked most of it but felt like a lot of times pynchon was being obtuse to simply be obtuse rather than any thematic reason
