With Borders closing, won't that create a huge hole in the physical books market? Is this the approaching death of physical books happening much sooner than we'd expected?

No, you're fucking stupid.
2/10 for making me reply.

Amazon.

Could you tell me why I'm fucking stupid? You can be a dick about it, if you want, but I'd like illumination when possible.

What does illumination offer to the idiot? If you can't figure it out yourself, what good will come of simply telling you?

That's a good point, but it's still electronic in one of it's aspects. I can't help but feel with there being only one major chain resource for books, that physical books have lost a huge support.

Alright, so we should leave babies up to think for themselves and abolish school systems.

The end of one shitty and over-priced book store does not signal the end of literature. The era of the ebook is not yet coming, mainly because they won't stop crashing.

>> No.1949659

Borders was a shit bookstore. So no.

Barnes & Noble > Borders

It was always like that. Borders fucked up too much, so it went down. B&N is fighting a lot harder.

Interesting. How is it Borders fucked up, and what is it B&N are doing to keep alive?

this

there will never be a death of physical books

it's only the old models of business that are dying. buying in enormous volume and marking up the retail isn't feasible anymore. if e-readers were really the downfall of bookstores, borders and B&N wouldn't be selling them.
