Does anyone else read a book, like it, and can't articulate precisely why you liked it?

How to overcome this?

What the fuck do you mean. Just sit or have a walk and think about what parts affected you the most. What characters really spoke to you? After answering those preliminaries, interrogate why you think those characters and moments affected you— specifically YOU. What in your soul did those aspects reach out and touch? Return to the book and read again.

You're usually not gonna know WHY you liked something your first read or watch. The information is all new. It's like trying to psychoanalyze a conversation while you're still having it. You won't be disinterested enough your first read through because if you like the book you're probably busy simply enjoying it.

But also, why do you think you need to precisely articulate why you liked something?

It's unbecoming for a patrician to be too reflective on such things. Welcome to the upper crust.
