Chapters about the author's writing or his life in general - good

Chapters about the sci-fi / horror stuff - boring as hell

It starts off focused on the former (the first chapter is great), and by maybe halfway through it seems to focus on the latter, which is dull. Why does he do this? I've almost finished it, although I admit, I look forward to having the mysteries solved.
