Here's a book of short stories. For very short ones, read The Snow Child and The Werewolf. They're exceptionally well-written. My favourite story is The Erl-king.

actually i'm trying to find ideas for a short film. I would either contact the author of a short story to see if i can translate it to a movie, or just get some ideas, and understand what are the storytelling possibilities in a short time, what works and what doesn't..
