What does /lit/ use to keep track of which books it's read/reading? I'm thinking of either Good Reads or Shelfari.

I look over on my bed and go "oh yeah, I'm reading those".

Goodreads > Shelfari.
Add me, Tom Harper. We'll talk about books.

You're lame. Just read. Why must you list things? So that when someone asks what you've read you can whip out your precious list? That's not the point of literature. Life's too short.

I analyze the books I've read, therefore they are recorded forever in my memory as the book is allowed to change and shape my life.

I do not create a list of books I speed read and then completely forget. What a waste of time.

I like Shelfari better but either one is fine. Try both and see which you like better. Goodreads is better if you're interested in having discussions and stuff, but I like the visual aspect of Shelfari more.

Some of us have great need to organize things.
Some of us have OCD.
Some of us like to see trends in our reading material and are interested in analyzing those things.
Some of us like the aesthetics of a "wall" of accomplishments ie. read books.
Some of us like to keep track of things.

Why do you judge? Why belittle our quirks? Isn't life about doing things we enjoy? What other answer do you expect to a question "Why must you...?" other than "Because we enjoy it."? Don't be a fool, man!

I have a spreadsheet which records Title, Date First Finished, Times Read, Author , Pages,Word Count (if available) Total pages and novels for the year and all time.

At the end of each year I make a poster out of the covers of each unique book I read in order. This is last years.

I like to write about books I've read / are reading in a notebook. Thoughts while reading and then thoughts afterwords. I leave a page or two blank in the front so I can track changes.

I like masturbation too, but I don't go showing people.

I use a Kindle, so I don't have a visual reminder.
