Why is so much of literature about sex or love when both so rarely happen in real life?

I’ve tried hooking up with a guy. It was disappointing and meaningless.
I had a relationship with a guy too but he broke up with me after not too long, despite being with only one of the few people I know who could actually understand me. Finding a connection as deep as that again seems impossible.
Everyone I know does not seem to have that much sex. If they’re in a relationship they don’t seem to know what love really is either. I think people boast about these things, but I believe sex is quite rare and love is even rarer.

sex with meaning may be rare, but then again attributing meaning to something that arguably should only be for procreation is already asking for an emotional shitstorm without any benefit. sex without meaning is still fairly common, especially with simple people.

IDK how anyone could come to this. an act that literally can wind up producing another life as well as an act that explicitly and almost purposefully wells up emotions instinctually.

>sex without meaning is still fairly common, especially with simple people.
No it isnt, pepole get pissed annd and attach all sorts of meaning to sex all the time, do you live in a underground cave?

Do you actually interact with any young women outside of class or office? They're getting railed nonstop.

Unfortunate that nobody taught you any better before you went and damaged yourself.
>I had a relationship with a guy too but he broke up with me after not too long, despite being with only one of the few people I know who could actually understand me. Finding a connection as deep as that again seems impossible.
Most relationships won't last more than a few months, you sound very inexperienced and a little dumb. Can't tell if you're a gay man or a woman but the two are incredibly similar anyhow.
>Everyone I know does not seem to have that much sex. If they’re in a relationship they don’t seem to know what love really is either. I think people boast about these things, but I believe sex is quite rare and love is even rarer.
Sex is not so rare but young people are having less and less sex than in previous generations and the reality is that a good portion of the population was never having sex.

i seem to be more socialized than you since i've been around and with people that view it purely as a transactional activity (without any money involved). people do attach emotions and meaning to sex, but that doesn't mean everyone does it. its usually the types that ruminate and overthink things. people still fuck for the sake of fucking and don't make a big philosophical spectacle of it.

It's the most common strong emotion, and unlike fear and other negative emotions, it is pleasant so people don't want to forget the feeling. So they write about it.

Are you serious. Sounds like pseudo, retarded Oscar Wilde.
