From the fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire.

At the beginning of the book he is the King of the island nation (fantasy great britain) The Seven Kingdoms.

He and his best friend Ned Stark started a rebellion against the old King and his family when one of his sons captured Robert's soon to be bride, who was also Ned's sister.

While the rebellion was a success and Robert became king, Ned's sister had died in his arms after he tried to reach her in time.

Robert never got over her death and became a lazy, swollen hedonist... okay that's a bit too harsh. He just didn't cared about being King and spend his time eating, drinking, fighting and whoring.

Rhaegar really should've fucked Cersei instead of Lyanna/Elia. Their kids would've been so beautiful, instead of those weird dark little mongoloids called Rhaenys and Jon. Aegon is damn lucky he was born white.
