I have a hankering to read a novel that takes place in Pre-Columbian era Americas.

I read Don Quixote years ago, but I'm not sure that even counts.

Can you read Spanish?

Apparently, there is a novel called the Heart of Jade, set in pre-Columbian Mexico City about Aztecs.

I just googled it up, have not read it for myself, not even the Wikipedia article.

No idea what to expect.

Cervantes was Spanish and born like 50 years after Columbus died.

Do you mean native american stuff? Not much of a written language there but there are tons of books with descriptions of legends. I'm partial to North West Indian myths.

I highly suggest Charles Dickens by Edgar Allen Poe
