Get ready for tons of disappointments. There is nothing to gained from this life.

I gained a bit of immortality. My name is in archives now. If in a hundred years some literature prof does research on "the lyrical tradition during the Corona pandemy" or something silly like that, he may stumble across my name. And even if he just glances at it for a bit before turning the page, this is proof that I have existed. And it cannot be taken from me.

Were you previously published? Did you just submit this as a shot in the dark?

All will perish. If you're not getting your dick sucked in this life then it is futile to hope for anything beyond your death. Some upper middle class academic career goblin discussing your work is shameful, if they're will be discussing it then your work is already dead. Everything which is understood is dead. Why do you think that they suck Trakl and Paul Clean dick but don't teach them after all of these years? I really hope you must have followed gibberish formula of Joyce if you were aiming for immortality.

The Mallarmé formula is richer and just as effective.

This is stupid.

What's that?
Joyce would work even for late modernity because things are more less same.

I just shotgun sent some poetry to different publishing houses at the beginning of the year. I was not previously published.

It is stupid, but it is a step above nothingness. Again: you cannot take this thought from me.

I’m glad you’re excited but don’t think you’re immortal or important for having poems published.

I do not think I am important, I do not think I am immortal. I just enjoy the thought that my name is out there. That is, to me, enough. For now anyway.

It’ll go away. I have 5+ poems out in the world and I doubt anyone reads them.

Fame is a magical illusion and one of the most deep rooted desire is the great motivator of many actions our of basic survival needs.

>Occupations. The sweetness of fame is so great that whatever we pin it to, we love, even death.

Very happy for you Anon! Just have a question: how do you know your poems are not shit before sharing them? I like writing either very short or very long poems to express myself, but I do think they're pretty awful. What have you done to be conscious about your ability to write poems?

Only the most selfish think in this manner. You only think in terms of what there is to be gained rather than what there is to give. You will never recognize what gains you have garnered because you've not given a proportional amount. All that you can take with you is that which you have given away.

For one thing, I have always had a decent sense for meter, since I've been a small child. So I have always written poems (though back then they were obviously just chidsplay).
In school and at university I joined literary circles where we would meet once a week to exchance short texts or poems we had written. There I've almost always gotten good feedback on mine, and even when I posted my stuff on /lit/ a few years ago most Anons seemed to like it (most, I might add). So yeah, I am confident that my poetry is good. I'm also quite studied in the subject, which also helps me assess the quality of my work. Now of course I'm not the best poet in the world, but I think I have a decent grasp at what my strengths are.

>>19422189
Sorry, I stopped posted my poetry on /lit/, because I don't like this weird ambivalent status of "published" that the texts in the archives have. Publishing houses tend to not accept poetry that was posted online. If it is any consolation, they are in German so you very likely wouldn't understand them anyway.
