Problem is K drops off hard after War & War. Destruction and Sorrow Beneath the Heavens is plodding in contrast to the foreboding of his earlier works, and The World Goes On is borderline unreadable. Seiobo There Below is pretty good, though. I haven't tackled the latest yet.

Seiobo was one of his best works in my opinion. Less balanced than War and War, maybe, but with higher stylistic peaks (the Alhambra chapter and the one about the Noh actor are among the best things he wrote). Baron Wenckheim's Homecoming is not the best of the tetralogy, but definitely a great work.

He's calling you a poor writer. You should have written, "Name a better living writer." All the qualifiers you added meant the same thing, so they added nothing to your sentence.

Maybe he wants to exclude extraterrestrial authors. Maybe the ''right now'' was an imperative. Maybe he chose to omit the comma that would've have made the aforementioned more comprehensible to a plebeian like you who can't appreciate radically experimental prose like his.

I think this is unquestionably the case, though it begs the question whether OP is a glowie or mentally ill.
