Well, I unironically think this is part of literary discussion. I'd like discuss the following:

> How do we establish this type of character within the ecosystem of a narrative?
> What particular memetic idiosyncrasies are common among these individuals?
> What stories are they present it? (Megamind maybe?)

I for one think that it depends on what you want this character to do. The personality of the character as a secondary character might have to rely on more "stereotypical," quick witted instances but at the same time, this doesn't have to always be the case, most of this could be 'shown and not told'. If this were a primary character but not a protagonist, would he be the voice of reason? If he were a protagonist, maybe too much insight into this character's thoughts might be derivative of other writers such as Houllebecq who have already experimented with this type of person as a character.

What does /lit/ think? How do we do these people justice in writing?
