Can we have one of these? I think they would tidy up the board since so many questions here, well, do not deserve their own thread.
Here's my question: my environment at home is really noisy and I can't stand it anymore. I'm thinking of buying noise-cancelling earmuffs. Has anyone here used them for reading/studying? Are they uncomfortable?

It depends on your priorities. Earplugs filter out much more sound but it can be hit or miss whether they fit or not. Noise cancelling headphones are comfortable but expensive

you can get decent -25 or more dB earplug at your local pharmacy for like 10 bucks, I used mine pretty often for sleeping etc before i lost them, I should get another pair. you can also get some custom made for your ears which is ideal but a lot more expensive, like more than 100 eurobucks.

I've been using earplugs but they hurt my ears and I find them very uncomfortable. Maybe I have tight ears because I find earpods also uncomfortable. Also I'd have to replace them all the time which I'm not a fan of. On the other hand there are these 3M earmuffs that are in the $30 range and seem to work very well (for industrial use or shooting range actually, but people have reported using them for noisy neighbors as well) I only wonder if they cover a different range of frequencies than earplugs.

Is there a more orthodox term for the "blindpill"? Seems to be a strictly 4chan thing. Books on quitting or at least detaching oneself from consumption of media?
