Darklands
Planescape: Torment
Arcanum (with content restoration)
KOTOR1 and KOTOR2 (especially the latter with content restoration)
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines (with unofficial patch)
Mask of the Betrayer (with or without playing NWN2 first, which is mediocre; NWN is worse although its expansions are sort of alright)
Deus Ex
King of Dragon Pass
Star Control 2 (Ur Quan Masters edition is free online)
Freespace / Frespace 2 (can be modded to look better than modern games)
Thief / Thief 2
Homeworld / Homeworld: Cataclysm (and maybe HW2)
Dwarf Fortress
XCOM
Daggerfall (mechanically much more ambitious than any other TES game)
Morrowind (modded)
System Shock 1 and 2
Ultima games (various)
Might and Magic games (various)
Gothic series
Jagged Alliance 2 (1.13 patch, and google "Drassen counterattack")
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri (only play expansion after playing base game)
Masters of Orion 2
Sword of the Stars
Fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas (heavily modded and with the understanding that Gamebryo isn't a real game engine so you have to focus on roleplay/writing and tolerate the mechanics)

isn't that probing him right tough? you believe that something can change the nature of man thus belief can change it.
I honestly love that conclusion; you think it's going to be something grand, perhaps a word which to you has acquired a new meaning over a thousands lifetimes or some near death experiences, or maybe an idea granted a material form.
Turns out it was the most basic thing in the world, the one you need to make something important and only when you push it enough to make it your everything, only then it can answer your question.
Great game.

no. the answer is "belief". the game literally says this & this is WHY there is "more than one answer". the only thing in this world that is IMPETUS enough to do something is BELIEF. you can say all the words you want but if your actions don't align then there is a lapse in belief. what you do is what you believe in
>You are wrong. If there is anything I have learned in my travels across the Planes, it is that many things may change the nature of a man. Whether regret, or love, or revenge or fear - whatever you believe can change the nature of a man, can. I've seen belief move cities, make men stave off death, and turn an evil hag's heart half-circle. This entire Fortress has been constructed from belief. Belief damned a woman, whose heart clung to the hope that another loved her when he did not. Once, it made a man seek immortality and achieve it. And it has made a posturing spirit think it is something more than a part of me.

not that guy but be sure to play the gold version (that contains the expansion pack "night of the raven")
gothic 2 is much larger than gothic 1 (especially if you consider it with the expansion) and a lot better in almost every way (the only flaw i can think of is that the environment is much more generic as opposed to gothic 1's unique prison setting) so be sure to have enough time for a proper playthrough (e.g. you should be able to play at least two hours daily)
iirc it took me around 60 hours to beat gothic 2 gold

The fairytale I wrote when I was 14 (20 years ago). A spider receives a visit from a young butterfly. He bites her, and as she dies from the venom he calls her a fool, and asks her why she came to his web so deliberately, knowing she'd be eaten. The butterfly replies that her short life was of no importance next to her mission, to warn all the greatest denizens of the forest that a great calamity (a fire) was to befall the forest. Moved by her commitment, the spider does not eat her but wraps her dead body in silk, and leaves her in the heart of his web before departing. He meets other anthropomorphized bugs and other spiders (I was crazy about bugs at the time so I had taken real life species) and he also meets a mantis with whom he falls in love. Every episode has him torn between the ruthless spirit of nature and the nobler heart that the butterlfy has sown into him in the begnning. I had everything illustrated with watercolors that were kind of bad but charming, looked sort of Tim Burton-esque. I destroyed it years ago and I sorely regret it.

Distraint and Distraint 2.
To spoil the story, the first game is about a guy named Price whose job it is to evict people out of their homes, this weighs on his soul but his greed is too strong for him to stop. His guilt and torment is manifested as a rotting elephant that appears from time to time, a play on the phrase ‘elephant in the room’ because everything he is doing is so obviously bad for his own mental health but keeps ignoring it.
By the end he decided he can’t live with himself and the game ends with him putting a shotgun in his mouth and you hear a loud bang as the game cuts to credits.
Distraint 2 is a spiritual journey where Price converses with the many aspects of himself such as his sense of reason, greed, love, agony, fear, all in an attempt to revive his sense of hope. It’s very surreal and you’re never certain if the character is actually dead and his is the afterlife, or if he’s still alive. I won’t spoil that for you.

Dude, using a popular person's name to draw additional public to your product us a very old marketing practice. GRRM will probably write 2 lines of dialogue as it always happens when they do this l, because it's not the first time. They did it with Gaiman, they did it with Rothfuss. It's a marketing thing, hey the SOIAF might like the Souls series how about we make them aware that it exists so they give us more shekels?

I can't. EU4 has already devoured much of my life, and I'm about to sacrifice the rest to it. It's the only source of strong emotions in my life, everything else, from food to working out to sex feels bland compared to it. I am not playing right now only because a new patch is coming out on November 11, so there's no point in starting a new game. Someone, please, help me.

>>19326884
>I don't know how to square the two.
You don't need to; they work in entirely different fields. Miyazaki is a game designer first and foremost and focuses on environmental storytelling, Martin is a novelist who focuses on characters. No matter how much Miyazaki likes Martin's work it will always have a negligible impact on the structure of his games
