Does this series get better or worse? The first two books didn't impress me.

I enjoyed the Frank Herbert novels. But as with anything, read until you're not enjoying it. If the first 2 don't do it for you, the rest won't be better.

I find that the general quality of the books goes down slightly but Herbert's writing ability gets better and better. The third book is like a mixture of the first two though so if you're not convinced now it is unlikely to change your mind.

Honestly, I dropped the first book after about a hundred pages. I've unironically seen people on here say read through book 4 cause that's when it gets good. Why waste time with a series where most of the books suck?
