Unrelated but does anyone know what is the name for the practice of endowing ancient characters with more modern apparel on painting? E.g this picture is supposed to show Alexander at Issos but the soldiers are equipped like medieval European knight. Or this painting of Aristotle where he is dressed like a 16th century merchant
