>which missal do you lads use?
Picrel, Baronius Press 1962
>what book related to Catholicism are you reading?
Introduction to the Devout Life
>how was Mass today?
Great, as usual. Sung Mass, good sermon and nice chat in the sun outside afterwards with people from the church.

I especially like today's epistle:

>See therefore, brethren, how you walk circumspectly: not as unwise, But as wise: redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore become not unwise, but understanding what is the will of God. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is luxury; but be ye filled with the holy Spirit, speaking to yourselves in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual canticles, singing and making melody in your hearts to the Lord; giving thanks always for all things, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God and the Father: being subject one to another, in the fear of Christ.

The liturgy shows us that our misfortunes are caused by our unfaithfulness in conforming to the will of god. Let us beseech the lord, through the prayers of holy church, to pardon our sins, so that we may serve him with a quiet and trustful heart, always obeying his precepts.

Pope Francis is going to btfo the trads just like St. John Paul II did when he excommunicated Lefebvre. This is what St. John Paul II wrote when he announced the excommunication of one of the first of the traditionalist dissenters(Lefebvre). Trads and their e-celebs are on the way to hell.

Angelus Press' 1962 missal, but I don't use it that much actually. I prefer to admire the liturgy or pray the Rosary during Holy Mass.
>what book related to Catholicism are you reading?
A book about knighthood and chivalry by Fr. Alfredo Sáenz (I'm hispanic).

Today I will sanctify the Lord's day in my home with my family, as we're SSPX parishioners but don't have Mass every sunday.

I asked this in the last thread and only got a bible study response.

I was wondering if any catholic school/institute has put together a "study Christianity" list for learning not only the bible but the theology which would probably include Greek philosophy and Christian apologetics

Not trying to start a flamewar here, but this might be a good place to ask about two misgivings I have about Christianity.
>sin
Can anyone explain to me why I should feel like sin matters? I’ve done bad things, sure, and sometimes I regret my actions, but why do my mistakes require cosmic intervention? I just don’t have the bad conscience to fee like I need to be redeemed. I’m not perfect, but I can’t believe that there’s something fundamentally wrong with me (original sin) that needs to be forgiven, and if there were why would whining about it (confession) help anything?
>corrupt nature of the material/natural world
Very much related to my first misgiving. I love the natural/material world. I believe being concerned with it in the vita activa is very noble, and that the contemplative life only serves to enhance our activity. In fact, I would agree with Goethe in Wilhelm Meister that our activities/occupations constitute the essence and quality of our lives. How could I possibly abandon this? Especially when the natural world, made by God, is so incredibly beautiful (pic related, took it yesterday in the Yoop)

I know Christianity isn’t monolithic, but these are two essential tenants I can’t get past. I would genuinely appreciate some insight in how to reconcile this with Christianity. Or if it’s impossible, I guess it’s simply not for me

I know this is a Catholic thread but I don't want to open yet another religious thread. Opinions on the 1662 edition of the Book of Common Prayer? Is the St. Augustine's Prayer Book good? I want a prayer book but I don't know where to start. There's also the Monastic Diurnal but I doubt I can find it here (EU, not UK).

How do I start going to church? I read the Bible about 6 months ago, and since then I haven't been able to remain an atheist. I wasn't baptized as a child, and I have no religious friends who I could go to church with.
What's the process for attending mass and then getting baptized? Is it as simple as going to the mass and finding somewhere to sit, or do I need to do more than that?

>> No.19204643

>>19204593
You can definitely just go to Mass. You can't receive the eucharist yet but that's OK. I would advise finding a good church (preferably one that offers the TLM) and speaking to a priest regarding your desire to enter the Church. What will need to happen is that you will receive instruction in the faith (probably RCIA) and then be baptised.

Please try to find a traditional church as this will make you more likely to receive a proper catechesis.

Just go next Sunday anon (or this week to any weekday Mass). Sit at the back if you're nervous. I'd also reccomend going to confession.
