One of the major Swedish newspapers wrote this about him:
>His descriptions and critiques of ethnocentrism and colonialism are not - like many of his African-born colleagues - confrontational. It can be said that he challenges the traditional postcolonial novel by, for example, toning down the role of Europe.

Are you serious?
Bob Dylan has crafted narratives, images, metaphors and even characters which poets like Louise Gluck only dream of.
His lyrics, taken as wholes, are SHIT, but they have moments of genius which make up for it. Meanwhile, many of the laureates write nothing but the 192922th iteration of magic realism or the 194824th iteration of 19th century style realism with a Zolaesque social focus. What's the point? It's completely banal.
At least Dylan is something rather interesting and new, a thing of his own, though of course heavily influenced by the Beats.
Visions of Johannah is better than the vast majority, if not all Louise Gluck poems, and I actually like Louise Gluck.
It's also better than this >>19185580, and I do recognize that this is a decent page. Again, taken as a whole, that Dylan lyric might very well have more faults, but it has lines which are better than *any* line in that page.

Christopher Ricks is perhaps the greatest living literary critic in America, a very serious specialist on Milton, Keats, Pound, and Eliot, and he has written a 600 page book on Dylan, and the book focuses only on Dylan's conception of sin.
You just don't know what you're talking about.

This is better than most of Gluck's poetry and than any of Gurnah's pages posted here so far:

"Ain't it just like the night to play tricks when you're tryin' to be so quiet?
We sit here stranded, though we're all doin' our best to deny it
And Louise holds a handful of rain, temptin' you to defy it
Lights flicker from the opposite loft
In this room the heat pipes just cough
The country music station plays soft
But there's nothing, really nothing to turn off
Just Louise and her lover so entwined
And these visions of Johanna that conquer my mind

In the empty lot where the ladies play blindman's bluff with the key chain
And the all-night girls they whisper of escapades out on the "D" train
We can hear the night watchman click his flashlight
Ask himself if it's him or them that's insane
Louise, she's all right, she's just near
She's delicate and seems like the mirror
But she just makes it all too concise and too clear
That Johanna's not here
The ghost of 'lectricity howls in the bones of her face
Where these visions of Johanna have now taken my place"

>Christopher Ricks
>He was born in Beckenham, the younger son of James Bruce Ricks, who worked for the family overcoat manufacturing firm, and Gabrielle (née Roszak)

>Louise Glück
>Louise Glück was born in New York City on April 22, 1943. She is the elder of two surviving daughters of Daniel Glück, a businessman, and Beatrice Glück (née Grosby), a homemaker.[5]
>Glück's mother was of Russian Jewish descent.[6] Her paternal grandparents, Terézia (née Moskovitz) and Henrik Glück, were Hungarian Jews from Érmihályfalva in what was then Austria-Hungary (present-day Romania); her grandfather ran a timber company called "Feldmann és Glück".[7][8]

>Bob Dylan was born Robert Allen Zimmerman (Hebrew: שבתאי זיסל בן אברהם Shabtai Zisl ben Avraham)[1][12][13]

I think the palette of your artists and critics is in dire need of some cultural enrichment and diversity, because they're looking pretty boring and homogenous.
