Any books about a girl really loving a guy, but the guy is a bit of a rebel and scoundrel while she is morally upright, so she rejects him, but wonders what if while still loving him?

It's more-or-less the central plot point of Wuthering Heights. (Cathy loves Heathcliff, but she wants to be refined and civilized and he's a total savage so she marries someone else, which leaves them both miserable.)

To a lesser extent, Jane Eyre. (Jane rejects Rochester because she finds he has a previous wife tucked away in the attic.)

Also, sort of, A Tale of Two Cities. Sydney Carton loves Lucy, but he doesn't feel worthy of her, so never tries to get her. Hard to say exactly how she feels about him. He's not really that much of a scoundrel either. (He just drinkis and underachieves, haha.)
