Why do people in Uni speak like this? There is no point to saying this.

This is a good phrase to use in a tiresome conversation to get people to shut up when they're talking in circles about something. It implies you've exhausted the topic and reached a point where waiting for future developments is necessary for further discussion and only thing logically left to do for your annoying talker is to shut the fuck up.

>it’s just interesting to see (x)

Possibly another conversation ender. It's kind of obvious that people don't like talking to you OP.

I understand why you would assume that this observation is about things said to me, but that is not the case. I’ve said the same thing in conversations before and it isn’t because I want the other person to shut the fuck up, I think it mostly is because I have nothing else to contribute to the conversation. You sound like a terrible, anti-social person to have a conversation with.

Student in class talking about the Facebook hearings and trying to come up with a point to their answer, “I don’t know, it will just be interesting to see”
It grates me, it’s like a cop out or something
Or when asking someone’s opinion on something in the future tense, what they think is going to happen “that should be interesting to see”
Maybe the poster who implied I am boring to talk to is right, what inspired the post is the first example, but I have encountered the second example before. I just wish people would try and make a thought than give me that bs

I say this when I have no sway over an outcome but I am interested in it. For example, "It'll be interesting to see how the China-US Cold War plays out". I am interested in it but I have no sway over it.

Basically figured it out today, finally. I wasn't apying attention

Basically over the last two decades sophistry "won", eg., rhetoric droveout philosophy

you live in a post-sensemakign and pro-signalling world where these idiosyncratic phrases are uttered constantly to signal you are still forming the idea you're trying to communicate with and are cycling the repeat pattern through the verbal cortex

>know what I mean
>see what I man
>like, you know
>I mean
>um
>uh

etc.

The pro-signal milieu is a harbinger of a more lasting decline in literacy worldwide as we head toward the Late 21st century dark age

It's also just a complete waste of time to argue at times too. Being able to clearly see you just have different viewpoints and moving on is a sign of intelligence. Because college/uni students and the more literate types are all theory and no action, whereas the "idiots" as they are perceived are all action and no theory. The people who are all theory do nothing but sit on their asses to watch things and stand idly by. To never be someone who actually does something important. These people are born to consume, and born to make other people wealthy. Born to be forgotten in time.

The men that are able to have both action and theory are the ones who will be remembered. These men are hard to come by. While we have plenty of wealthy, influential men - they do little for the betterment and advancement of humanity.

Some time in the near future we will see a great leader rise up and resurrect humanity from the ashes of the Great Resolve.

Man, because they're fucking nitwits who NEED to have something to say. NEED to fill every gap. I imagine at one time that there were periods of humanity where we universally acknowledged the fact that people who speak without thinking say nothing at all, or worse. This era had frequent pauses in conversation, filled with the machinations of one or the other, patient silence while quality thoughts are harvested from well tended gardens.
Frankly, these people should be told how idiotic they seem at every opportunity, even at the expense of potential mating.

This is actually a good viewpoint, her wording is just a little cringey.

The only time that this is completely insufferable is when they act like it's so cool to rationally talk out the problems they have with you, and for you to see it from their perspective, and agree to work on improving for them - HOWEVER - the second you try to bring up an issue you have with them, you're just faced with denial, dismissal, or a classic sociopathic turnaround - resulting in your perceptions of them and your descriptions of your problems with them apparently being just another problem they have with you, so you need to do the compromising in every scenario. Sadly this is not an uncommon occurrence with women, who very often lack self-awareness.

Holy shit you autists are goddamned cringey. No one talks to you or tries to Be Smart™ around you because you're a fucking subhuman who doesn't realize what you qualify as "intelligent conversation" is nothing more than self-congratulatory intellectual masturbation. No one is interested in talking to you, and you get told to shut up, because you're insufferable.

It's basically a way of leveling the playing field for slow-thinkers.

Say you are one of those types that prefer the long pauses in conversation, while formulating well-constructed and useful thoughts to turn into phrases, and how those phrases should best be spoken.
Now imagine you are trying to debate someone on a crucially important matter, who sees things very differently from you (possibly even incorrectly), but also simply thinks faster than you (there's always a bigger fish - in this case, younger, more energetic, more well-versed/learned, etc).
He can formulate those concise, meaningful phrases and utter them faster than you, convincing others of his points while you are silently plotting yours. As he moves from one point to the next, you have to keep changing the debate/response strategies you're planning to reply with in your mind, but before you can respond, he's already moved on to the next topic, and you are perpetually trying to play keep-up, standing there silently all the while. By the time he's managed to say his whole piece, the best you could do is refute his last three or four points, if anyone would still bother to stay and listen to you by then. (Don't forget - anything you are saying at this point can still be interjected by him during your next thoughtful pause, because he simply formulates phrases faster than you.) You could think "I'll just let him talk himself in circles until he trips up...", but what if he doesn't trip up, and you just never get the chance to say anything? The people will always listen to half-truths and awkward lies over complete silence, which they often interpret as indifference or ineptitude.

What would the solution be, to stop him from walking all over you and winning the people's favor, despite him even being wrong or uninformed of certain facts?
The best we have is for people to "fill the air" while they think, with
>uhh...
>umm...
>lots of people have been talking about this, and I've heard some interesting things, but my opinion is that...
and other say-nothing phrases. These are used to basically say:
>Wait, I have something important to say, and it's still my turn to say my piece, but I'm just finishing my thoughts on it, so don't cut me off yet.
