Recommend me good narrative works that meditate on the idea of eternal oblivion.

Read into NDEs and realize that it is not real. Atheists are coping hard when they think their consciousness is just a fortuitous arrangement of particles that will disperse on death

I'd prefer eternal oblivion over eternal consciousness, at least consciousness as it is for me now. I like my life, but 4 trillion years into it I would be pretty fed up

I don’t care if it’s real the concept is just very tragic and dark so I like it. Also seeing how 4chan has become a bunch of people patting each other on the back for belief in god (out of mostly contrarianism) and LARPing as tradcath-hermeti-gnostics or whatever I could care less

It’s only your perspective that makes it tragic. It’s boring

People here LARP about religion as if it were the crusades or thirty years war. I just like cool concepts and personally believe in it.

>dude dying is so bad but you just get immediately compensated by going to cloud land and hanging out with pretty angels
People cry at funerals because they have the suspicion that is the last they will ever see of their loved one, not star of being “seperated”

The usual theist argument is that you exist outside of time like God. I see reincarnation as most likely if there is an life after death, seems unnatural for the universe to have separate realms based on morality
