And by 'banned' I don't mean that it'll be illegal to own any of their books, but that it'll become practically impossible to find and buy a physical copy of them due to being no longer allowed to be sold on major online selling platforms (examples of such authors are Kevin Macdonald, E. Michael Jones and Scott Howard on Amazon) or printed by any publishing house (as is the case of Mein Kampf in Germany). Fortunately, though, you can still find most of those books on alternative sites like Ebay sold by third-party sellers, but from my experience they tend to become more and more expensive and harder to find (especially if you don't live in major western countries like the US, UK or Canada), and there is also the possibility of being banned there as well. This prospect deeply disturbs me. Even if I think Ted Kaczynski's a nutjob, there should be a platform available for pretty much any viewpoint.

If domain providers or web hosting join the side of "cancel culture," we're doomed. It's gone beyond consumer choice if tech monopolies can effectively silence anyone they disagree with.

Imagine reading Teddy on a computer, haha. Awesome! Not like that matters. What matters is our plan.

If we go on war footing quite a lot of stuff will be tracked. Wasn't so long ago you'd be hunted for possessing communist things

Reminder that last year major publishers went after Archive.org and filed a federal lawsuit because they temporarily decided to remove the waiting time for ebook borrowing

Don't know if there's any development on the story as of now, but this surely goes to show how greedy and despicable the publishing industry is and all the people involved in it.

I have a very limited budget and I'm thinking of what I should buy in hardcover that is worth preserving the most. I am torn. Basically all the Western classics are due to be raped by the MiniTrue. I'm going for the most important shit first, and I'm thinking of the Divine Comedy right now. It's hard to find a good hardcover edition. A whole lot of classic literature is surprisingly frail, as nobody would care if the authorities were to modify it.

I think he is referring to webpackets, a new thing developed by google where basically every web page is a single-file thing like a pdf. Can't block ads, can't do anything.

I also need an explanation, I have no idea how web 3.0 is supposer to work - the only criticism I've seen was something vaguely connected to crypto, but it didn't make sense to me.

I mean how does Semantic Web/Web 3.0 lead to censorship or restrictions on domains or anything?

Too many buzzwords going around imo and I can imagine stuff being pushed that might have some problems, I just can't keep track of everything

This is already the case. There are countless examples. Do you not remember Parler being down for ages? Gab was down after the Synagogue shooting. There are other instances too.

In my lifetime I expect to see all of these authors banned.

Adolf Hitler
Joseph Goebbels
Franco Freda
Savitri Devi
Aldous Huxley
James Mason
William Luther Pierce
Mark Passio
Stephen Goodson
Helena Blavatsky
Timothy Leary
Ted Kaczynski
Pentti Linkola
Julius Evola
Rudolf Steiner
Miguel Serrano
Karla Turner
All of the ONA/Tempel Ov shit that for some reason I can still buy

I don't think western canon is ever going to get banned from print, just removed from education. I think it's a lot more likely that Vyasa would be banned before Plato.

everyone was hyped about the semantic web in 2004. it will never happen. creating psychological traps like twitter and facebook, then selling your user's attention to advertisers is way more profitable. 'open' systems aren't profitable

I think Plato is too enshrined in the brains of the general populace for him to be banned. Even if everyone only knows him as some old smart guy people will probably kick up a stink if it gets banned.
