Meet someone who doesn't read or like literature. You'll be happy as long as you love them. My wife only read her college syllabus requirements, and we're happy. Don't project your interests on others.

Have none of you met a girl who actually reads? Sure, there are lots of YA loving airheads around but I've also met several girls who read serious literature, Dazai was actually recommended to me by a girl.

Okay, well little potter you have in your hands the clay to form and build her up. Raise her from her germinal stage and blossom her into your garden of delights. Fertilise her small seeds and raise her up. Woman isn't something you buy ready made off a store shelf, take the seedling from the nursery and plant her in your soil, water and nourish her, fertilise her growth, prune and clip her excesses and excursions, and cultivate your Galatea.

Would you really want a girl who's really into Dostoevsky?

This one time this cute redhead at work years ago sincerely asked my opinion about the Metamorphosis. Since I was technically her supervisor at that point I kept it professional and just said that it was a body horror theme, and if she liked that she should watch The Fly for similar stuff. This was my way of avoiding the real opinion, that Metamorphosis is about jewish self-hatred, which is treated similarly in The Fly. She was receptive to the suggestion.

Months later after she left the job she literally texted me for my opinion about Dostoevsky. I replied that I'd read C&P, BK and Notes years ago and I liked them. She replied that she was reading The Idiot and "didn't know any other person who might have read Dostoevsky".

Goddamnit I'm so fucking dense.
