100 selected poems e.e. cummings

robert frost, edgar allen poe, seamus heaney, t.s. eliot, stephen crane, bukowski...a good anthology like the norton book of poetry is really your best bet. get physical copy so you can flick through it.

today i read two very good books of poetry: the branch will not break by james wright and crow with no mouth by ikkyu.

Homer
Virgil
Dante
Milton

Read the epics. You need to learn that there's more to poetry than cute little love tales.

Poetry recommendations are kinda hard to do because translations don't really work. So each language's treasure of poetry is kinda insular.
If you happen to speak German I recommend you to read the German expressionists.
