it makes me unreasonably angry that i usually cant viably focus on reading when im drunk. i barely play videogames at all or anything like that anymore so i need some sort of drunk activity for when im drinking or else it ends up just being a waste of a night (and money), and reading would be perfect for that, but alas...

Anon, help me out. I have hated alcohol because of a lack of positive experiences with it, not that I grew up in a broken home or something. A couple days ago, I was at a theater fundraiser in a penthouse with some of the elites of my city. After trying a sip of a white wine, I was taken aback by my lack of disgust, and so, I poured myself a glass and enjoyed it. Pic rel is a photo of the brand, but when I search Google the logo is a bit different, a cat instead of a mouse. Do you have any comments on this wine as far as cost, quality, and what I should do next if I want to get into wine? Thanks.

Hmmmm. Possibly a Pinot Grigio. An affordable new varietal wine? The fun naming idea seems as if it came from casual conversation; perhaps the vintner uses “it’s okay” constantly, so often indeed it turned into 'Es Okay' with the casual compression speech takes on when well-broken in by habit. Looking at both the label and wine itself, I can't help but wonder if the idea is to keep this wine light and fresh. I'd imagine the grapes were hand harvested, 80% of the grape then going straight to press and cold settled for 3 days before being transferred to the tank. It no doubt went through fermentation in tank and racked off to another tank and cold settled until bottling. The other 20% of the fruit may very well have been foot treaded and naturally fermented on skin for 5 days, then pressed off and finished fermentation in neutral oak. Then... hmmmm... 80% of the wine aged in tank and 20% aged in neutral barrels for 6 months?

You're a fag lol. It's cheap, inoffensive wine chosen by the caterers to pad their bottomline. It's 20% 'craft wine' from a young vineyard mixed with 80% plonk. It's not even a varietal (usually varietals don't say 'white wine' and nothing else as regards grapes in the blend), as that write up suggests, so perhaps even the good parts of that wine may not be present here. Dregs mixed together probably. Learning about any kid of booze involves tasting a lot of it. There are books but they won't help you develop a palate. If you want something more complex than Pinot or 'white wine' but still similar try Sauvignon Blanc, of which Sancerre is an slightly more sophisticated treatment. Try to look for unoaked at first then quickly move on.

Thanks. Since the assistant for the host noticed me photographing the wine, I was told that it was donated by a local grocery store, not provided by the caterers to pad their bottom line. Apparently, the assistant even knew the distributor for this wine.
I am an appreciator of fine tobacco. Snuff is up my nose at this very moment. Since the conoisseurship of alcohol, particularly wine, is so much more common than tobacco, it is something I have been curious about since childhood. However, I think I will be sticking with my much cheaper tobacco.

I would not read or write if I did not do it drunk, but my blood alcohol content has probably been above the legal limit for most of the past decade. On the positive side I am down to a liter of gin and a case of beer a week. Things were pretty bleak for awhile there, feels good when I take out the recycling and see a couple dozen crushed beer cans and a single bottle instead of 5 or 6 handles.

Before the 12th century Hanafis thought it was cool to drink so long as it wasn't made from either grape or dates. In a way, Mehmet II was retvrning to tradition. This is why that breaking bad emme where Muslim Walter tries to convince Muslim Jesse that alcohol isn't haram had so much more potential, it could have made an actual case for drinking being permissible and rhat would've been even funnier.
