/lit/bros I’m beginning to realize that Christianity is too important to escape. Any recommendations of books that summarize the history of Christianity and its intellectual influence in the West? Thanks

History of Christ, by Giovanni Papini

Why aren't the other religions too important. What makes Christianity so special?

Thanks for the recommendation

Because every time I try to get into western philosophy they always mention Christianity (except for the Greeks of course)

Have you read Mere Christianity? It's fun.

My former hyper religious roommates and bf act like everyone thinks and acts on a basis on Christianity. It's super fucking annoying because I didn't grow up religious. I feel like their concept of life is so clouded by religion. I want to read more about religion (all) but they only spout shit about the bible. It's like they are defending that Christianity is the most important thing because they don't want to think their adolescence was wasted on reading only 1 book
