Seems like every thought I have, when I'm not working on my classes or otherwise occupied with a task, are bullshit memes of shite from 4chan and popular culture making it hard to have any original thoughts.

I want to keep working on my fresh novel idea, but when I finish my homework after sunset, and should still walk my dogs, I have no juice to put into it.

I'm trying to balance still reading here & there as well, as I find that more important unless I get hit with a swelling burst of creativity.

Someone rec me a good German history book. I've tried searching so many times but all I can ever find is Hitler, Hitler related, misc theories about Hitler, WW2, etc.

I want something that
-covers the full history of germany from prehistory to present (ok if it's a few decades old)
-discusses german literature and philosophy to at least some degree

My ultimate goal here is to get some context to better appreciate German literature and philosophy
