I really liked Big Wonderful Thing, especially since I read it after Lone Star. There is a lot of overlap, naturally, but they come at the story from very different angles. Like, the way the two books present Reconstruction-era Texas is night and day, they have completely opposite takes on it.

I buy two books and because I organize by size to distribute the weight more evenly, I have to move books up a shelf every time, but this results in like 5-10 books being moved for every two added.

I really need to get new bookcases but they’re all just bullshit particle board shelves, and the solid wood bookcases look like shit and are $1200
