The Eastern philosopher is that guy who follows his routine by the book. He always does the same amount of sets and sets, he's always doing the same exercises, he always show up at the gym at that one time, and leaves in one exact time as well. He doesn't skip any reps, any sets, and his diet is as much of a clockword as his exercises. Probaly fell into the SS+Gomad meme.
The Western philosopher is that extroverted guy who likes chatting with girls, showing off his muscles, he's less strict with his schedule, but way more flexible. Is really into progressive schedules like Stronglifts 5x5. Adapts exercises a lot (ie, squats with dumbbells instead of barbells). Doesn't count calories.

The entire philosophy of Buddhism is dependent upon this idea that you must try to attain this abstract state of being that has no value to the rest of mankind. It is a purely selfish endeavor in it's intentions and in practice it does nothing for anyone.

If the philosophy is dependent upon an unknowable and unprovable premise such as karmic death and reincarnation, it is not philosophically sound which is why it is in the category of religion.

Is the same as reincarnation except in his eyes, the ideal is to stop reincarnating because in his eyes life = suffering. Guatama was from a Hindu culture so his idea of Karma was built off of the Vedas though his religion does not require belief in gods, only the belief in Karma as an unprovable universal law (which is in the same territory as the concept of god).
