Not that I see the "world collapsing," but I do see the Western World/Western Culture falling to Chinese culture.

Individualism, Manifest Destiny, American Exceptionalism, "White Man's Burden," etc. - these things are growing to be outdated, I just don't know what kinda world we're entering. And existential threats like climate change, mass extinction/shrinking biodiversity, wealth inequality - they're all getting worse. (Maybe a Chinese world makes those things better, idk.)

Cat's Cradle by Vonnegut is probably my favorite apocalyptic book in this vein - a little pulpy, but it makes sense of a world that's quickly and radically becoming I world I don't recognize.

Truthfully it'd be hard to get accurate reporting on this based on the internet, but considering there's already cosmetic surgery out there for normal female genitalia, the biggest risk I'd say is fucking up the sensations of the transwoman. I'm sure doctors can make something that at least visually looks like a vagina.
