Hello /lit/ I'm here from /co/ and /adv/
You've come highly recommended
I've found something interesting and my queries lead me here.
It's a seemingly simple symbol substitution alphabet, in the style of faux ancient Cunieform.
Myself and some who have tried permutations have concluded, if it is a paragraph it is likely encoded.
How do we decode and decipher an alphabet simultaneously?
And it's probably backwards, right to left...

It's from this prop version of a sacrifice table in MARVEL's The Avengers
The character is Ashur in real world mythology but there are subtle differences

Cuneiform is an indented 3D carved language, and that makes shadows and glare, so I color inverted before switching to grayscale to give the characters a raised appearance so that we may better intuit their shapes/meanings
Here is the movie scene and original color.

Yes! Correct. Thanks for reminding me
Red means uncertainty. Black on top of red means I figured it out after.
Dots also mean uncertainty

Some characters overlap. These could be typos, surface damage or letter combinations etc

Triangle alone makes 8 characters/letters due to orientation in 8 axis U, D, L, R, UR, UL, DR and DL

Maybe SH or ER or something to that effect and also maybe BACKWARDS Right to Left.

Word spacing can be almost anywhere so determining word end and start is tricky

Why suppose it has any meaning and isn't just gibberish made up by the prop-maker to look like Sumerian cuneiform for a shot that lasts, like, 10 seconds?

This board is notoriously infested with midwits endlessly arguing about religion, politics and philosophy while never reading past the school curriculum. You are more likely to find a competent cryptographer on /sci/ than any person who knows what they are talking about on /lit/. /x/ might also be interested in this due to subject nature, but that place is even worse than /lit/.

They've been establishing alphabets for a while. Fans have figured out the Skrull alphabet and it's time for the Eternals. Gilgamesh is an Eternal and Thor's description of a Bilchsteim matches that of Enkidu real world mythology, while also being associated with the golden table itself in the script.
You see? It's all connected. I'm not crazy...
>10 seconds?
Fewer. It's like three frames per shot over three shots.

look for double letters. If it's an English cypher they'll probably be an "LL." On line 4 I see two upside down triangles.

Look for the most common symbols, those are probably vowels. Line 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 all have the backwards E symbol. That's probably a vowel.

I don't really care about this cypher enough to figure out which vowel.

There was an Assyriologist anon here a few weeks ago but I agree with the others saying that it was probably slapped together by the prop department based on google image searches of "ancient writing" and also if you care about capeshit you are probably retarded.

>> No.19077191

>>19077139
I like comparing capeshit to it's origins in old Norse mythology and the Epic of Gilgamesh etc etc

WandaVision fans don't know about Snorri Sturluson or the eddas so they can't explain the runes or Satyr magic.

Nobody noticed Loki went to see a play he is a character in by Wagner

It's a ten year old alphabet just sitting there. Other sites like Reddit and Twitter could barely scratch the surface.

If you must know, the reason I'm doing this is because one of my random predictions of a TV show caused flame war in that show's fandom, so I want to give them credit for joining in to help solve another fandom's code.
They tried but it's a complicated cipher, so I figure I'll just give them credit and post around the web to see if anyone's interested in sharing ideas.
The movie it's a decade old Easter egg for is coming to theaters soon. It would be impressive to have it solved before then.
Maybe they'll spoon feed us the layout so we can crack it after the fact.

What if we brute force random characters associations then run those associations though a cracker with a key word or number?
