If they're a big enough celebrity to get a respectable book deal, yes. You won't get that job fort two reasons: they usually know or have an idea of a well-established writer (e.g. athletes often have journalist they know and think will be sympathetic, politicians have highly paid writers working for them already.) Failing that, the large publishing house that paid them their exorbitant advance will connect the celeb with a ringer. You're neither a ringer nor you have any longstanding.relationships with high profile agents and editors.

Come on, dude, no celebrity or publishing company is going to trust you--a complete nobody, inexperienced and unknown with no credentials or body of work--with an investment of that magnitude on a high profile project (that usually have tight deadlines.)

Going SOF for the sake of being SOF or proving something to yourself, as opposed to going SOF because you want to do the job, is extremely selfish and can potentially get people killed.
My hatred for David goggins runs very very deep.
The amount of young dumbfucks who listen to him and "push through the pain" and fuck up their chances of ever getting selected by getting injured is insane. The amount of people he draws to selections to "prove they can do it" without having any interest at all in actually doing the job is insane.
Because of stupid fucks like him, you see a lot of people who think being SF/SEAL/75/AFSOC is like being an athlete or movie star, something you fight for that makes you popular and valuable.
The point of a selection is to make sure you're possibly ready to do a job. You don't go to a job interview to prove you can pass the job interview. You go there because you want the job.
Goggins did not want the job. He was and is a coward, a loudmouth with no concern for his fellow sailors or the United States. From the beginning, his intention was to waste massive amounts of recourses in order to get famous. I'm only glad that during his overseas cowardice he didn't actually get any Americans killed, he was merely kept back at the FOB and then sent home.
