The Quran is supposed to be God talking directly to the people. The hadiths are a collection of books that talk about stories of Muhammad. So whereas the Quran would read like "those who don't do this will burn in hell", the Hadiths are like "he said she said he said that once, Muhammad was taking a shit and said to his favorite 10 yo wife to fetch him some water..." etc.

Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman. a bro recommended it to me here when i asked for books about just vibing and loving life. whoever that is thanks it changed my life. i'm also a lazy fucker so poetry is great because i can just read a few lines and think about them, let my mind wander, chill, and desu they're more profound than entire volumes of novels and philosophy.

Tao Te Ching is cool too, but read it like poetry dont try to interpret it like super logical philosophy (its chinese for fuck sake you wont find logic)

read less, vibe more. a single piece of grass is a greater miracle than the most complex human machinery.

If I'm not a Christian (wasn't raised one, have only been to a church service exactly once in all 24 years of my life) but reading an academically annotated Bible for scripture classes as a part of my Religious Studies degree moved me emotionally and has created a great desire in me to continue studying the Bible, does that mean I have the affections of a Christian?
