Any good books featuring episodic story telling?
Like a set of the same characters going on various unrelated adventures.
I can think of books in a series where each book is a different scenario but I'm looking for an example of a single book with different unconnected stories with the same character(s)

usually if there is no connection between the adventures, it doesn't get published as a book. so you're looking for story collections with recurring characters. stuff like pg woodehouse or chandler's stories.

if you're tolerant of some loose connectivity your options open up because there was a wave of these story cycle type books recently. ghostwritten, trainspotting, visit from the goon squad

then there's old shit with grouped stories but the characters are generic. i.e. the decameron

they're called picaresques. Don Quixote and The History of Tom Jones should be at the top of your list.

Not quite sure I can guarantee them being completely unrelated, but the different narrative branches in Bolaño's books usually are at least superficially independent. Try Savage Detectives

Not completely disconnected stories, but The Hobbit had a very episodic pace to it

You basically summed up what the Horror’s Call book from here are. They’re interesting in that they have some of the same sets of characters. But the books are all separate stories.
