Tibetan Buddhism is more than the dominant Gekulpa school. Worth mentioning that those guys have a very poor track record at tolerating other views. They resorted to violence and burning of books and monasteries to try and supress Rantong views

The fifth main school of Tibetan Buddhism is the Jonang, and they subscribe to an interpretation of Madhymaka which differs from the other schools and which allows for the Absolute to have independent self-nature. This means that unlike the Gelugs, they dont have to inconsistently make a special exception for Buddha where all their dialectical criticisms dont apply to him, his attributes etc. The Gelugs have to make an exception for Buddha where none of their dialectic applies to him or it all falls apart.

The common artistic representation of the Buddha is based off Greek art. We don't know but it's possible that the historical Gautama attended Nalanda university where he would have found some Western and Iranian philosophy.

Nalanda didn't exist until nearly 700 years after the Buddha's death. Cultural exchange via Hellenization is more likely.

Buddhism predates the Indo-Greeks. Though interestingly, Ashoka may have had a Macedonian grandmother, as a Seleucid princess was sent to his grandfather as part of a treaty. And of course, the Greek language had to be known in India for him to send missionaries westward to the diadochi. But again, Buddhism predates Greek presence in India, as it does the Maurya dynasty.

Buddha was a scythian

>Some scholars, including Michael Witzel[11] and Christopher I. Beckwith[12] argue that the Shakya were Scythians from Central Asia or Iran. Scythians were part of the Achaemenid army in the Achaemenid conquest of the Indus Valley from the 6th century BCE.[23] Indo-Scythians were also known to have appeared later in South Asia in the Middle Kingdom period, around the 2nd century BCE to the 4th century CE.[24]
