Seriously, the ending will culminate sublime implications built up throughout the book, and leave you staring back behind a curtain of nightmares

It is much more powerful than the likes of Cioran or Mainlander ever could be, because those two reek of edgy depressed teenager, whereas Conrad is a lived, mature, world-weary man who has seen some shit, he doesn't completely succumb to despair, but you can tell the horrible shit he's endured has molded him into a sage of cynicism compared to those two faggots
