Give it a try just for fun. By using the advice in the book I'm making new friends while I'm waiting in line, and the few people I already knew are telling me I'm somehow funnier and more likeable.

Also, when I started I was like "this stuff is only useful for salespeople and politicians, I don't want my relationships to be like this". But now, I realize I was just too centered on myself.

I actually find it insulting the fact that people (i.e. politicians) who are generally look down upon are actually very good talkers, understand human interaction and have interest in people. regardless of their politics.

Then I realized what's stopping me?

I thought the name was incredibly stupid, but the first time I read it, I managed to hook up a date a girl who hard friendzoned me for years before. The relationship didn't last but I left satisfied at least.

Make It Stick: The Science of Successful Learning

It's a numbers game. Practice practice and refine your conversation skills, with exposure you gain confidence and eventually you'll start finding more and more women that actually find you interesting. Books like these are just placebo to give you that extra confidence boost. Do read it but apply and practice.
