Are there any good biographies of Cormac Mccarthy? It doesn't even have to be a book just a long article or something of the sort.

very little is known of him, theres unironically not any available info about his life other than the little thats on wikipedia. his fourth novel Suttree is said to be partly autobiographical. mccarthy has said he has up to a dozen unpublished novels which perhaps we'll get along with the passenger once he passes, i'd be shocked if he left us an autobiography.

Have you read 'Whales and men'? Unpublished screenplay (not exactly; a draft of a screenplay rather). It is fucking good, The Crossing (and post-BM McCarthy) inherits a lot of its ideas from that screenplay. A good primer for anybody who find his philosophy too obscure; there is a very persuasive monologue on the inclination of humans towards violence within it, It destroys the argument that Mccarthy is a nihilist.
