It known it’s pathetic bait, but George r.r. Martin writes really good genre fiction.

That’s all. No reason to hate him or trash him. Unless you are a midwit who likes to feel superior over the normies

Pretty dark wasn't it?

Unironically my favourite aside from Dunk and Egg
Reading Dance now. It has a few good chapters but feels like serious downgrade

it could've been if we actually got feast of dragons and cut out the chaff

My least favourite. Storm of swords is better IMO

I'd say the novellas are his best work. Condensed into a knight errant story, with interesting interactions to the main still feels as if it has an effect on the world. They're a fun read and Dunk is one of the most lovable protagonists in fantasy.

I think A Feast for Crows gets leagues better on a re-read and has some of the most well written chapters in the entire series see Jaime sparring and the kingsmoot. I agree about Dance. Northern chapters were 10/10 along with stuff going on in King's Landing and the Riverlands but every Essos story felt like it moved at a snail's pace. Barristan's were okay I guess.

Couldn't agree more. Egg is one of the most fascinating characters in the universe as well.

Is this the one with the scene where Jaime sees the snow coming down? That scene was pretty based.
This book completely and utterly fucked the series as a whole though. Too bad he couldn’t figure out the timeskip.

I liked the Cersei chapters in this one. Didn't finish it though.
