18985643 No.18985643 [Reply] [Original]

I was rereading Industrial Society and It's Future, and I noticed when Ted speaks of lefties as the power hungry types, who attempt to impose their beliefs and morals on others (which is correct), he does the exact same thing. He speaks of revolution and creation of a revolutionary movement, that would go on and impose his ideas and philosophy on others. He goes as far as predicting that violence will be unavoidable. So how do you differentiate between Ted and lefties when it comes to this? Would not he be then, by his own definition, a leftie?

>> No.18985670

No, leftshits seek control to overcome what they perceive as their own shortcomings, which they project onto othersto cope woth the shame they feel, the shame that they are human.

Ted just wants to undo the damage caused by the industrial revolution and its consequences.

>He speaks of revolution and creation of a revolutionary movement, that would go on and impose his ideas and philosophy on others
He specifically implies two possible ways the System will come to an end. One is a violent revolution, and the other is the inevitable fact that it's going to strain itself to death. But yes, his idea of revolution would have to inevitably lead to some sort of collectivist hellhole, since there would have to be active effort to stop new technology that could over time become dangerous. But the revolution itself was just supposed to remove the enemy of the human race (technology), and the people who would defend it.
>He goes as far as predicting that violence will be unavoidable
Well yes, because when have the ruling class ever given up power willingly? Although he's also quite idealistic in this aspect. He thinks it's feasible to just realistically cause anti-technological uprisings across the world at the same time, while also preventing people wielding technology to just conquer back the world. There's a reason technology, as it gets more and more sophisticated, just takes over the world. Maybe he addresses it in one of his newer books.
>So how do you differentiate between Ted and lefties when it comes to this?
Lefties avoid any sort of direct violence, and the system is propagated by them through technology and social coercion, not direct violence. The psychology of the "leftist" (he uses this word in a very American way) isn't someone that actively fights for what he believes in. They spread their dogmas through social means, such as shaming, imprisoning etc. A leftist contributes to the system and uses technology to mask his shortcomings.

>hehe you made a trivial mistake, that means I get to discredit valid arguments
>The bombing anon, the fucking bombing is not seperate from the manifesto because bombing was the only way for people to know he had a manifesto.
Well yes, that's what I mean. He didn't bomb those people to single handedly cause the revolution. He bombed them to bring attention to his manifesto. The anon I was replying to (who admitted he didn't read it) implied otherwise.
>Why arent you reading about how the US government is evil from them?
Do they have a manifesto in well translated English? I'd love to.
>Because Ted said something that you construe as "owning the libs" so now you're invested in his insanity.
Why are you just implying I agree with him because I read him, and used critical thinking on obvious shitposters? Why are you unable to differentiate between intellectual curiosity and worship? I've read Mein Kampf too, and will read Das Kapital. Do you know where you are?
>The man isnt rotting in ADX Florence because he's was too much of a galaxy brain genius anon
He was uncaught for decades, and cost the government a lot of money and time to catch him. Any midwit would be caught in days. Trying to discredit his intelligence, and not his obviously flawed and unpractical arguments in the manifesto is very telling, as is your investment in someone you haven't properly read.
>>18985879
Did you just not read my post, and just decided I was someone that agreed with his methods out of convenience? You obviously seem much more comfortable arguing in Twitter terms, where you get to just paint me as some manifestation of Ted himself, because I dared to read him. I did specifically said his ideas would lead to collectivistic enforcement of the revolutionary dogmas. The internet has warped your brain.
>This was one of Teds biggest slip ups imo. The "system" doesn't do anything "to death". If something stops working, the "system" stops doing that and finds something else. Society really is self correcting in the grand scheme of things.
Agreed there. However, I think his view of the System was specifically at his weird cut off at the Industrial revolution. So in his dream world, where we magically undo technological progress, the system would not exist, even if it was just replaced by a different form, something more to his liking.
