QRD: During the French Revolution the peasants and aristocrats in the rural Vendée countryside formed an impromptu alliance against the bloodthirsty Bourgeois Liberals and urban proles in Paris to defend their homes and their religion from the scumbag mass murdering Jacobin commissars who were executing priests, nobles, and anyone accused of being a “counterrevolutionary”. It was very bloody and atrocities were committed on both sides however the Jacobins were far, far more cruel to the Catholic peasants. The Jacobin “infernal columns” went so far as to murder and rape both women and children indiscriminately. Historians describe the revolutionary Parisian government’s policies as being distinctly genocidal. Though the Vendée lost their war they still continued a bloody guerrilla war against the revolutionary government until finally Paris relented and promised to no longer conscript from the Vendée and was granted religious liberty.

The war in the vendee (among other autistic reasons) is actually why Karl Marx who was a deep admirer of the Jacobins (and later Vlad Lenin who intentionally modeled the Bolsheviks directly after the Jacobins and believed he was fulfilling their promise going so far as to usher in a “Red Reign of Terror”) disdained peasants so much and viewed them as untrustworthy and inherently counterrevolutionary. To be clear: because they had the courage to stand up for their way of life and not cravenly submit to a rampaging mob like the proles and liberals had in the name of “progress”
