>Military surplus?
Yes, that one
>It would make me think of right wingers personally especially with that flag
I know, but if you think about it that flag was used before and after Third Reich, it's not really a nazi flag. In fact, the official national flag during 3R was the famous swastika one, except for the 1933-35 period when they used the old Imperial flag instead (pic). The one you see on the coat is in fact the Weimar Republic flag, later used by West Germany (DDR used the same flag untile 1959, when they put a symbol in the middle)

Aside from that, you have to consider that since it was a military surplus item, it was cheap: it wasn't a fashion statement (at first), it was simply cheap and warm, and so lower class (almost always left leaning) youth often wore them.

Not a single crease on any of those spines. The marriage of nerd culture to late capitalism truly is the fall of western culture. Or whatever was left of it.

>What would Irenaeus say about Jack Harlow / Chet Hanks types of fellas?
I don't know who they are. But if they stray from apostolic/patristic doctrine, than clearly Irenaeus would simply call them heretics.

>Explain "dispensationalism"
I honestly don't know all that much about it, seems like a material way to look at scripture and its prophecy, dividing the times and ages by specific criteria. While ignoring the spiritual and the mystical aspect, the timeless truth of scripture, intended for all ages.

>Outline the church's understanding of soteriology from the time of Christ
wew!
without having to write a book on all the different doctrines, the discrepancies between Churches, doctrines, and individual teachings of the theologians. I would have to say that most would agree on the simple fact that whatever seeds we sow in this life, we get to reap in the next. This is why faith that Christ will forgive you with true penance from your end, is universally recognized, across the ages and denominations, as the primary means of salvation. We recognize that only through God's grace can anyone be saved, which is why repentance is so necessary to a man's salvation, since without repentance man remains a sinner and an enemy of God, his only means of salvation.

Absolutely we can be friends, and should be. Russians are going back to worshipping trees when they ought to be consecrating themselves to Mary. They have to know: contrary to what some bad priests say, salvation is not available through just any old way. God is present in those heretical faiths insomach as he is calling you to the true faith. Would say Catholics and Orthodox may be traditions divided by man, but are in truth only one faith.

Interesting shelves anon, pretty similar to me. Have you read Capital in the 21st century? I'm half way through, what did you think of it? Also I just bought Manufacturing Consent which I'll read next, /lit/ never talks about these books so I'd be interested to hear your take on them

I annotate them and if someone is over having a conversation and a particular book or idea from a book comes up it's cool to be able to pick it off the shelf and look at the notes I made about it. It adds a lot to the conversation and does so in a far more productive and less intrusive way than using an electronic device to fulfill the same purpose would.
