Just finished God-Emperor.

Really cool ideas:
the Golden Path, the creation of a strain of humanity with the ability to hide from prescience and therefore avoid extinction at the hand of the Great Enemy, (machines both intelligent and prescient from which mankind would've had no escape). Leto's tyranny to teach humanity «a lesson that will remain in their bones» about mankind conflicting desires: the one for peace and the one for chaos. Huge memetic potential.
All very cool. But the execution was severely lacking. The prose felt uninspired, compared to the first book and even to Messiah. The dialogues were very clunky. The rhythm was off. A pity, because execution is everything.

Final vote: 5.5/10.
