R.C. Waldun is a literature student lost in thoughts - which has resulted in the (self)publication of his new novel L'Académie.
These threads provide a space for Waldun aficionados to discuss said work, and related material.

Set in the authoritarian Hunger 1984 Divergent Games universe, "L'Academie" is a story about a man named Eddington whose daily life is dictated by The Regime. Six days a week he leaves his home for L'Académie, a four-year education program where the subjects, upon completion, are allowed to go beyond The Wall.

Waldun has since acknowledged the faults within his work:
Criticisms & An apology
I've realized that L'Académie was not up to its standards and since it's coming out in a few days, you can get a refund for your pre-orders. Criticisms aside, I apologize for not gathering up enough practice and care to the book before releasing it. But now since it's already out, I think the best course of action is for me to learn from this blunder and move forward. Read a little more, practice writing a little more before attempting another writing project. The book will still be available from the 1st of Sep if you want a good laugh. It was my fault and I welcome any criticism. :)

I don't like him and his book is shit but I think it's so, so bad that he apologised. A horrible decision. A shame he doesn't have people in his life who can give him advice about how the world works. As a public figure - even a small youtuber - you should never fucking apologise, it makes you lose all credibility and gives people enormous control over you. I honestly wonder how I'd react in his situation. A friend of mine always used to deny and lie about obvious things that he must have known appeared obviously true to both of us, yet he still wouldnt acknowledge them. on his old website, he had a list of his favourite books. on that list was Ulysses, but at the start of his "review" he said he'd only made it about 90 pages into the book. he then went on to say that Oxen of the Sun was supposed to be a really great chapter because of the literary references. this was supposed to explain why they are his favourite books, but he literally just said "other people like it, therefore it's good"
might seem a bit unrelated, but I think it really shows how Waldun cannot come up with his own opinion, but has to follow whatever he perceives as being the "correct" opinion.
