I have been filled with profound purpose and wish to change the world and elevate humanity to a higher place through my will.
What is the ONE book I need to study to aid my ambitions and/or educate me for my journey?

Is it really that wrong to want to make the world a better place without self-serving or ulterior reasons?

Yes, it shows a great deal of hubris.

It doesn't make a difference. Consider this, would you die for your ideals? Surely. Yet, that is absolutely insignificant. Any human life is worth itself and just itself as a human life. Sacrifice of any kind is absolutely irrelevant, and so are hope and prayer. Only action can carry a man forward to achieve, and the opportunities for action are limited by the actuality and reality of your being. There may be a chance to win the lottery and obtain significant wealth thus, but a person winning the lottery will already be forever damaged compared to the person born as heir to wealth in their own suddenly acquired means: you cannot change the past and you are the person you are. These qualities sound obvious and insignificant, the former they are but they latter they are not, as they fundamentally determine everything about any possible being or becoming of what constitutes you at any moment.
This is weak determinism, and it's utmost cruel. I can still see men as being free, though, as men still are men in their identity, free to this being as men and as being Man fundamentally, which is absolutely not free but free as being human and free as becoming more a person unto death.

It is not hubris, your claim. Hubris is a sin, and there are no sins which you can commit, only virtues of which you are unbecoming of and never to be as, to be in.
There is no journey. If you'll not find a book here, or anywhere, or no place in whatever future time a leader is made, then you should, and here I'm marking your fate, myself unknowing of however many failures you'll be able to endure and for how long you'll uphold ideal in virtue against as to not have them appear as madness, come to lay beside your spirit the seed for humility to virtuously cloak this defeat of Youth iteslf, which is the becoming, so that you won't come to find yourself struck down.

Also, this.
