what does /lit/ think about tokarczuk? she was awarded noble prize 3 years ago.

i have just finished one of her books
wow, it was awful. like hyper-awful, one of the worst things i have ever read. "Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead" is a disgusting 'power fantasy' novel without any subtlety. it reads like parody at times. makes me wonder if the heroine of the book is an actual antihero, but I dont think I missed something. or did I?
if it had been written by a kid in its late teens, the novel would be like ok-tier. but she was over 40 yo writing it, what the fuck. are people really being awarded for such garbage these days?

You’d accepted and even like a male power fantasy froma 50+ year old, of course.

she looks like the alcoholic aunt who's been single for years and finally "found herself" in a pile of cats.

Does it really matter what an author looks like?
